Hi Ned,

Many of our clients have made assumptions about their target audience. In Geoffrey Moore's book"Crossing the Chasm", he talks about early adoptors. These are people who are open to new ideas and technologies. A new company's technology and message may easily resonate with these types of buyers. Unfortunately, most buyers are risk adverse. Ones message needs to resonate with this group. The best way to test assumptions is by surveying the target prospect base, as I outlined in the blog. I hope this helps. If you have further questions, please email me at alicia@somametrics.com.

Thank you for the incredibly helpful posting, most of us could benefit from much more personal blogs similar to this on the net. Could you expand more on your second paragraph please? I'm a small bit puzzled and undecided whether or not I understand your point totally. Many thanks.
