The Salesforce.com Lightning version streamlines the workflow especially for Sales by using more modern layout design principles and capabilities. It enables administrators to compose the desired layouts by arranging various components (activities, accounts, contacts, custom objects, etc.) as desired in a dashboard or console way so as to minimize scrolling and bringing the most important information a particular role needs at the top.
